The full title of our collective is:
National collective of Russian Federation Nizhni Novgorod State University Academic Chorus!
We are one of the oldest chorus collectives successfully functioning at present.
Owing to great support of the University administration and the Student club of the University the choral collective have successfully taken part in choral festivals and contests in Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Hungary, Italy. In 2005-2006 the collective celebrated its 55th anniversary. During this period of time collecitve was awarded to:

- Laureate of Bolshoy Theatre
- Laureate of Internatinal Competition in the city Riga (first place in category vocal ensemble)
- Laureate of Lenin Komsomol of Gorky region
- Laureate of International Choir Festival in city Valencia (Spain) 1996 year
- Prize-winner of First and Third Festival of University Chorus "Gaudeamus" Izhevsk (Russia) 2000, 2004 years
- Laureate of Festival "Voices of New age" city Sarov (Russia) 2000 г.
- Laureate of X Chorus Festival "Young voices" city N. Novgorod (Russia) 2004 year
- Silver diploma VI winner International Choir Competition Budapest (Hungary) 2005 year
- Laureate International Choir Competition Riva Del Garda (Italy) april 2006 year
Besides enlightening and singing activity the collective participates in organization of choral art among youth. The Chorus is the initiator of traditional (since 1983) Nizhny Novgorod festival of student chorus "Young Voice", Assembly of conductors and choir-masters of Volga Federal region created by Vladimir Izumenko who has been the art director of the collective for 35 years.
Nowadays the Academic Chorus is directed by Larisa Erykalova - follower of Vladimir Izumenko's learning.
Choirmasters are - Alexander Kostrov, Nina Soloviova, Oleg Kitaev.
Accompanist - Sergey Khorev.
